horrible laminate

by pshaw » Fri May 11, 2007 1:57 pm

We have recently had a loft conversion completed on our house, and in order to save money(our room is 35 mtrs sq) we purchased a laminate floor from a well known retailer. In the shop the laminate looked perfect, and had an un-smooth surface and so I felt it was a cheap option for wooden flooring.

It's turned out to be a huge mistake because it looks soo orange and fake, and I'm afraid to say I hate it. Changing it isn't really an option because of cost, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to whether i might be able to paint it or something.

any suggestions welcome.

No deal here I'm afraid. Laminate is a hugely difficult surface to get paint to stay on and when you do it lasts no time under foot traffic. The paint begins to flake and that looks 10 x worse.
