Hot water coming out of cold taps

Post by marktom » Tue Jun 26, 2007 7:54 am

Just had a new bathroom fitted along with a shower pump for conventional system. Boiler is working OK but not getting hot water to radiators. Cold taps are giving very hot water. Seems like an obvious answer to me but plumber insists he can't possibly of made a mistake.

Anybody know exactly what he might have done?

Was it all working ok before the plumber came ? do you get cold water from hot taps ? sounds like he's either crossed the pipes or he's piped both taps up from the hot water supply.

Heating - did the plumber fit a new radiator or remove any radiators ? what type of sytem is it, gravity HW, combi etc ?

Thanks for the reply.

Turns out the stat in the immersion heater was set at 80 degrees which over the course of a full night heated the water in the header tank. Its now set at 55 and seems to have done the trick.
