Somebody please save my sanity and possible a divorce. Bungalow, loft storage cold water tank and seperate header tank for potterton boiler. Gravity fed water.
However, sometime the previous owner had a Grundfoss pump fitted to hot water pipe believed to feed hoteater at a quicker rate, especially to kitchen 16 mt away from HW storage tank. The pump has not worked since we moved in. 'er indoors' said that pump needs replacing because we waste around 3 litres of water waiting arrival of hot water to tap in kitchen. I say all a pump will do is deliver the hot water quicker pushing the same 3 litres cold out first followed by the hot water as requires... Not knowing anyithing about plumbing she is insisting replacing the pump will save water. Again I say No it wont knowing a smidging about plumbing.

Hot slow arriving at kitchen tap which is 16mt from kitchen would adding a bosster pump not only make delivery quicker, would outlay of a new pump to replace the existing save money? I say NO it would just push the cold in hot water pipe out quicker before you get delivery of hot water. 'Er indoors' says I'm wrong. Also suggestions on type of pump.. Thanks.
