Hot Water Issue and Possible Failed Motorised Valve?

by DanV8 » Mon Nov 09, 2020 8:29 am

Hi, hoping somebody can guide me in the right direction in this. Everything points to a motorised valve issue, though having just replaced it still the same issue, though it was working.

Oil fired system, hot water cylinder when you turn on hearing it fine and is controlled by the thermostat however as soon as you turn on the hot water it shuts the boiler down. Brand new Honeywell actuator fitted on valve, the valve itself moves freely by hand and can be diverted to hot water if twisted. However as soon as the valve top goes on same issue. It did used to work, any ideas? Thanks in advance

Hi danv8
Most likely issue is wiring of new valve - wiring colours may not be the same as the original. Has the new actuator got the same number of wires as the original?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I’ve been working on it this morning and found the problem, one of the wires to hot water in the programmer had snapped in the connector. Problem now solved. Thanks
