hot water primary circuit

by Willc » Wed Jun 15, 2011 10:39 am

Hi all,

I have a hot water pronlem. Our Boiler is working heating the water which should rights rise in the primary circuit into the hot water tank upstairs to heat the water therein. Although the pipes get hot the water in the tank doesn't.

Now a plumber came saw that the expamsion or overflow tank in the loft had run out of water so we topped that up. This should have completed the circuit and should have corrected the problem however it has not.

We've left the boiler on all day and a night just in case it took a while to rectify. But again it has not.

is there something else we need to do is there an air bubble present does that need to be bled out.

any suggestions would be gratefully received.

thanks Willc

Willc,
If there is no vent on the HWT on the primary circuit you will have to slacken a joint to remove air. Have a look for a bleed valve.
