Hotpoint tdwsf83 bep condenser dryer
My drum wasn't spinning and the old belt hadn't snapped or stretched, I thought replacing the belt might solve the problem. (I definitely fitted the correct belt). There is a lot of slack on the belt and it won't tension. There is a black moulded part that appears to be attached to the motor housing which has a spring connection. The spring is in perfect condition yet when I move the arm the black moulded part won't tension the belt , it just returns as the spring drags it back, whilst I imagine it should possibly lock in to position,any advice would be appreciated.
