Hotpoint Tumble Dryer Bearing Wear

Postby biff00 » Wed Dec 16, 2020 9:04 am

My Tumble dryer started to make a high pitched noise yesterday and on investigation the bearing is badly worn (see photo)

I am going to buy/fit a replacement but it seems the drum shaft is off centre and pressing down on the bearing.. is this normal?

Do I need to completly dismantle the dryer to investigate why the drum shaft isn't centred? What are the possible causes/solutions?

Many thanks
Paul
