Just bought a house with unfinished steps - any idea how i can finish these off? been quoted 200 for it - would prefer to have a go myself first.

markw_007,
Easiest solution would be to make timber steps.

"been quoted 200 for it"

Although you don't show the scope of the work (how many steps, where do they go) the daily rate for a brickie is probably around £ 170. Could you do it in a day? Seems a reasonable price - you might be able to haggle a bit.

If, however, price includes a semi-skilled labourer as well I'd bite his hand off and get it done.
