I have moved into a new house and the builder has painted the front door. On looking closely I find that the door is not metal which I was told it was, and is infact UPVC. Some of the paint is now starting to flake, and therefor I would like to strip it back to the unpainted UPVC surface that it should have been left with.
Has any one any tips or instructions I could follow to help me with this.
Hi migwell, if as you say it is a new house why would the builder have painted the front door if it is UPVC. This doesn't make much sense and even if he did then the paint shouldn't be coming off yet if it was applied properly. Usually these type of doors are only painted when the finish has become unsightly, after being up for a number of years and only then if they really need it. Personally I would get them back to sort it out. Shed.
