Hello. I have just come across this forum and I wonder if anyone can please help me. I need to put down a paved base for a garden shed. I have 25 paving slabs and a sack of cement (and some builders sand) I had a go at doing it myself laying the slabs on the building sand but I couldn't get the slabs to level out. I went online and found I should have used mortar instead but I'm not sure exactly what to order and how much of the stuff to order from B&Q. Having somebody in to do the job has produced a quote from one guy of £470 which has made me realise that if only I knew what I was doing, I'd be more than willing to have a bash myself so to speak.
0121,
The materials you already have will be OK. Mix the muck and lay a bed forming ridges in the surface, lay a slab on the much and tamp it down a little until level and so on across the area.
