How to change a shower valve after arm snapped off?

Please could someone tell me how to change the valve on my shower? The arm snapped of the existing valve and so I have to turn it from its base. Please see the picture in the link below. Thanks

Could you post some more details and or pictures? I can’t see anything snapped in the pic
