Hi geo3892 Suggest you treat the joint with rot and insect killing liquid. Cut a hole in the masonry next to the joist and fit a new joist alongside the existing one bolted to it. You will need a good metre of sound timber on the old joist and should use toothed timber connectors between new and old. May be worth encasing the joist end in dpc before you make good the hole.
