How to deflect an outlet...

by volvomad » Tue Jul 27, 2010 8:33 am

Hi,

I have a problem with the soil downpipe where it links into the drain. In the photo, the soil downpipe is top right of the picture. Flow of the drain is to the top.

What is happening, is that when the toilet is flushed the waste shoots out the pipe and piles up in the corner bottom left of the picture. Is there a way I can add a deflector or bend to the ceramic outlet to get the waste to go down into the channel, and possibly aiming in the correct direction?

volvomad,
Cheapest solution would be to add a 90 deg bend onto the clay pipe stub to direct the waste downwards.
Otherwise you are into fitting a new IC downstream from the existing IC.
