How to repair dents after removing skirting boards?

These are dents left in the plasterboard after removing skirting. Tried not to pry off but still occurred in stubborn areas. What is the best way to repair them as the skirting will not cover the damage?
They are not holes but dents. Up 2" x 2" max.

use dry wall adhesive, and then sand the patches when set
