Immersion heater gasket

by eastcoast » Wed Mar 03, 2021 1:50 pm

When installing a new Immersion heater to a cylinder,

1) Should jointing compound be used with the fibre gasket?

2) Should PTFE tape be used on the thread?

Hi eastcoast
1 - no 2 - no apply Vaseline to the threads in case you have to remove the heater at some time in the future. Regards S

Thank-you stoneboy. I did not have any Vaseline so I used copper slip. Regards.
