Improving Rough Looking Window Edges Around Bathroom Window

by hoggjoe » Fri Jul 06, 2018 11:05 am

Hi Just moved into a new house with this rough looking metal edge around bathroom window and door. Fairly new to DIY so any quick fix to help with making it look better would be appreciated or any advise on changing altogether.

You haven't showed enough pictures to give a definitive answer, but from the little I can see the vertical section is a bodge to hide something, it hasn't been fitted at the same time as the horizontal. So if you take it off you should be prepared to have to replace the window.

I would do the door first because you will get an idea what is being covered up and if you find you need to replace the door frame you can live without a bathroom door fo a little time, with the window you will need a replacement ready to fit before taking the old one out.
