increasing fence height 2

Post by cookerooby » Mon Jul 02, 2007 4:49 pm

Have noticed that the 1 metre high concrete fence posts have 2 holes drilled all the way through them at the top and bottom as well as the mortised sections. I think this is to take a straining bolt for chain link fencing. I am wondering if it would be feasible to offer up 2 six foot mortised timber fence posts either side of each concrete post and then run a coaching bolt through all three where the pre drilled holes are on the concrete posts. Would this be a secure enough fixing for timber posts then to receive 3 arris rails and featherboards? The concrete posts are 3 metres
apart.

Hope you can help. Cheers.
