Installing a Solid Fuel Stove

by freeglide » Tue Nov 06, 2007 11:51 am

I am installing a Solid fuel stove into an existing masonary chimney. I have had the chimney swept and checked and it is drawing fine.

Can I connect the stove direct to a section of flexible 316 grade flue liner and continue up the chimney?

What are the regulations in relation to this?

No you can not, the flex class 1 s/s liner must remain in the confines of the chimney breast, single wall viterous enamelled flue pipe or similar connects the stove to the liner, sealing & jointing with a suitable fire cement and high temperature glass rope.
