Installing Extractor Fan to Duct With Almost no Lead in

by icivil » Mon Oct 02, 2017 10:47 pm

Hi,

I've been trying to find a replacement for my extractor fan, but almost all seem to have an exhaust pipe that is 6 - 10 cm long.

The duct in my place (in the ceiling of a flat) immediately bends and changes shape (maybe system 25 or system 50 adaptor). It has a 1 inch straight run to attach to before the shape change.

My old extractor fan sat inside a housing outside of the duct (like the centrifugal style).

I am now looking at this product (https://www.vent-axia.com/range/solo-pl ... xtract-fan) hoping that it will work. I'm basing it of the fact it say it has a "spigot" that one of the aforementioned adaptors can be attached to. But I don't really have an idea.

Would anyone know for sure before I buy? Or alternatively, anyone know what I should be searching for (i.e. the correct terminology)?

I attached a pic of the duct for clarity.

Many Thanks
