Insulating a suspended timber floor

Post by whitehart » Sun May 20, 2012 7:40 pm

Hi All

I need to insulate my suspended timber floor, has anyone done this and what would you recommend??

would you use loft insulation between the joists or polystyrene sheets cut up and both fixed with netting or timber laths, if so what thickness insulation would be best to use??

are they both safe to use if they are in close contact with either electrical cables or central heating pipes??

Thanks in advance

I would use fibrelass insulation its fire resistant and you can stuff it in tight areas.
