I am looking for a programmable central heating control system that will minimise fuel consumtion by measuring the outside temperature changes as well as the inside changes and cycle the heating accordingly.Any suggestions? Or do I need to build a control system myself.
There a few heating controllers out there that could give the control you require. They come under the heading of heating optimised-compensated controllers. The complete installation requires the controller, indoor / outdoor sensors, a flow temperature sensor and a 3-port divert valve.
They calculate the heat requirement for you property compared to the outside temperature. The optimiser facitity has semi intelligent ability to take control of on/off times by comparing prevoius day temperatures.
They are quite expensive, however, the return on the initial investment, in fuel savings, is relatively good.
