Internal Bathroom Ventilation With no Loft Space

by KLForbes » Sun Oct 20, 2019 11:47 am

Sorry if there's already a thread on this, but couldn't see one on quite this issue.

Problem: Internal bathroom with no external vent options, no attic access. The bathroom is right in the centre of the flat and has no external access whatsoever. We discovered that the bathroom vent has been venting into a suspended ceiling, and had not been connected to an external vent line (which there is, but it's inaccessible due to the way the internal structure of the flat has been adapted over the years).

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a condensing dehumidifier unit which could sit in the suspended ceiling space with an extractor-type fan on the bathroom ceiling, with an outflow pipe into the bath unit/grey-water outflow? Our only other option would be to vent into the internal hallway, which wouldn't be great...

Thoughts/options very welcome!
