I am trying to put a tv up on the wall and am having some issues
I used a stud finder to find the studs and upon drilling into the wall I hit something hard so I grabbed my SDS drill and found it’s metal and pretty hard. I could probably go through it with the SDS drill but stopped myself as wasn’t too sure.
It’s a brand new house and it’s in a first floor bedroom backing onto a bathroom. There is a towel radiator on the other side but that is fastened lower down on the wall and I can’t understand why the pipes would be going up to the loft (no water tank in loft, boiler in kitchen and no pipes coming down in airing cupboard). I tried about 6 inches lower down the wall and it’s there too also I turned my stud finder to look for metal and it appears it’s about 6 inches wide and runs over the studs as it’s the same the next stud along.
I have tried to take a picture which I have attached
I spoke to the builders as they are still Building other houses on site and they are metal studs which is quite annoying so I have decided to use grip it fixings have used them before it’s a 40” tv so it’s more than capable to be held with them. Thankfully I am building a fake wall for the main tv with a fireplace underneath so can put wooden supports where I need them.
