Joist support brackets - nails or screws?

Quick question guys....

Should i use nails or screws for installing my Joist support brackets, ive heard that nails have better tensile strength but some else reckons screws will grip better??

If you can get access then use screws.

40mm sheradised square twist nails.
These are designed for when very strong joints are required.
