Kitchen worktop jig

by Richard. » Thu Feb 28, 2013 5:27 pm

Hi, I'm new to this site. My question is. Are the cuts (male femail etc) universal to all kitchen worktop Jigs? I have been asked to replaice one section of a laminate work top, in a u-shaped kitched, I have only ever fit entire worktops so don't know if my new femail joints from my jig, will fit the existing mail joints. Any advice much appreciated. Richard.

Richard.
It's very unlikely that you will have an exact match, try making a joint with a worktop offcut, this will enable you to see if you can match the shape by adjusting the placing of the jig.
If you get to do this replacement make sure you lift under the join and break the join by opening the top of the worktop, running a razor blade along the join may help break the silicone seal.
end
