Large Crack Between Wall and Ceiling Found After Removing Coving

Post by Liam1978 » Sun Feb 22, 2015 7:58 pm

Hi,

I just removed the some old and damaged coving and there is separation between the ceiling and the walls as per the picture. As you can see there is also a bit of a damp issue. If I push the ceiling up the crack gapes even more.

I'm a bit of a DIY novice, can anyone recommend the best course of action. Is it just a case of using the right filler or does it require professional attention.

I'm planning on getting the ceiling skimmed and replasterrd anyway. Is it something a professional plasterer could rectify?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks
Liam

you can use a mesh called skrim that you can lay over the crack then plaster over
