I am think of laying new floor tiles in the kitchen though my bathroom. I will take for ever in me removing the old floor tiles and replacing with new floor tiles.

Clean the old floor and paint with an undiluted coat of SBR latex solution which you can buy from the builders merchants. Use powder grout and mix with water as per instructions also putting a T cup full of latex in a bucket full of the mix. Make sure you stagger the joints of the new tiles over the old. See the project on tiling over tiles.
