Leak from bath

by Boghead Ben » Wed Sep 05, 2007 4:12 pm

OK, here's a tricky one. Yesterday I noticed a small pool of water in my kitchen area. Initial investigation revealed that I had a leak coming from the bathroom area.

The water only appears when running water is present in the bath, i.e. shower on or taps. When I plug the plughole the water stops in the kitchen leading me to the conclusion that the leak is somewhere under the bath. I'm worried though that this is a major job.

Any advice from anyone?

Hi Boghead Ben,
It sounds like it's something to do with the trap/waste pipe connected underneath the bath to the plug. It may have worked it's way loose. Take bath panel off and try pushing all joints together on waste pipes and tighten up, check that the overflow pipe is also connected correctly to the waste, hopefully that should have done the trick.
Good Luck
