Leaking Radiator

Post by diysteve » Sun Apr 08, 2007 11:57 am

I've just found that my radiator in the front room has a small hole and is leaking,

if i follow the steps to isolate the radiator and stop before i disconnect it completely i assume this will stop any more water going in to it to leak out. Is this correct?

If this is correct will the rest of the heating still work if i switch it on tonight?

Also cananyone recomend any puty/ sealant i can apply on the outside of the radiator to seal the hole?

Cheers
Steve

if rad valves hold then no more water will get in....but is an if..
heating can be used....DIY stores stock what you need but can be a bit iffy to rely on long term....due to pressure and expansion
