Leaking shower mixer leaking orange rusty colour water

When the shower is turned on, an orange rusty colour has begun to appear and is staining the white tiles around the metal shower mixer - see photo.

Could someone explain why this is happening and what I should so?

Hi eleanor pail,
In all probability there is a leak from the shower valve. The water may be running past a steel bit in the valve or a screw used to fit the valve. Provided you do not have the same type of rusting stain on the shower head nozzles the front plate of the shower valve will have to be removed to find the source..
