Lighting on Ringmain.

Post by murphy » Fri Jul 20, 2007 6:02 pm

Hi. whilst fitting a kitchen, the customer asked me to change a light fitting. On trying to isolate , i found that it was on the 1st floor socket circuit. Also it appears to be in 2.5 mm2 to fitting. Is this normal/safe. A quick responce would be appreciated . cheers

Hi Murphy, not safe/normal, either divert to fused spur then back to light in 1.0mm/1.5mm with 3A fuse;
Or cut back, make safe in J.Box. & rerun light from existing light.
