Will lime plastering over electrical cables adversely affect the PVC sheathing?

Hi Spike,
I'm a retired electrician and currently renovating my 1860's farm workers cottage, I'm removing all traces of modern portland cement/and plaster patching and replastering with lime plaster, I'm also rewiring using the standard white plastic oval conduit/tubing which is fixed to the wall and then plastered over. To the best of my knowledge I have never seen damage to PVC cable caused by lime nor either to the old rubber cable which one might more expect to find buried under lime plaster, however I cannot say defintively than a chemical reaction couldn't occur, just that in 49 years I have never seen evidence of it.
Why not do as I do and play safe by using plastic conduit, you can wire up after plastering that way.
