Hi all. I want to extend a doorway opening in a gable end (exterior) mass concrete wall from its present size of 32 ins to 64 ins. My question is: As the wall is mass concrete, and therefore set as construction, what need is there for a lintel over the opening? None, as far as I can see but if I'm wrong can anyone point out the pitfalls? Also, are there any legal requirements? Shronell
