Locking Garden Container

Postby Eggs » Sat Apr 15, 2023 6:06 pm

I was looking for a neat way to lock my garden container.
The idea I had was to drop an unthreaded bolt through the holes provided for a padlock. If the bolt had a hole drilled through the the side, near the end then I could padlock it.

Do these kind of bolts exist? I see there are drilled shank bolts. But I need an unthreaded drilled shank bolt - if you get my meaning.

It would also be a nice solution for locking some other things, so please don't suggest I just use a long, wide shackle padlock.

Hi eggs,
I think what you are looking for are clevis pins - you may have to drill out the hole to suit a padlock.

I am indeed. Thanks for that.
And yes. Looks like I may need to drill out the hole a bit.
