Hi, I am looking at installing Loft Boards in my attic and one suggestion I've had is to rather hang them from the diagonal Rafters / Trusses rather than get Loft Legs. Is this ok? can the Rafters take the same load as if I were to add loft legs to the joists and do it that way?
Hi mikmo, Probably not a good idea. Whichever way you form a new structure from the rafters to support the flooring you will have vertical hangers and joists increasing the load on the existing rafters. There would have to be support from every rafter so as to spread the load - stick with loft legs on existing joists. Regards S
