Loft storage above insulation

by ratherbesurfin » Fri Jun 03, 2011 8:29 am

Read on here for last few months about cross batterning with 7" x 2" and boarding on top. The price, weight and inconvenience of 7" x 2" joists always put me off.

I saw a new product in a new Toolstation catalogue and bought the only box from nearest store. They are called Loft Insulation Legs, one box of 12 supports three loft boards.

I've never posted on here before but felt moved to tell you all about the death of cross batterning. These leg things were dead easy to use, I screwed mine down with 8 x 1.5" woodscrews then used same screw to secure board on top bit. (the photo in the catolgue is upside down).

I'm going to do a square around my loft hatch, i think i'll need 6 more boxes and 8 packs of boards.

Check them out, the best ideas are always the simplest...[/b]
