making a gravel driveway for first time, advice please

Postby beltabry » Sat Jun 30, 2007 4:48 pm

I am digging up my garden to lay a gravel driveway. I have read the project page on this but I would like to know how to flatten gravel in the same way as you would with scalpings or broken brick hardcore to form a kind of concrete driveway with the gravel. Can you just flatten the gravel as it is, with the vibrating plate, or do you have to first mix the gravel with something? also doing this will I still need to lay the scalpings in the same way?

thanks in advance for any advice

advice is don't!! Unless you set it in cncrete so it is hard the local cats have a filed day. There is now way of stopping them from using your drive as the best loo in town. I know, I am just haviung to change my beautiful gravel drive, having exhausted all other options, and my drive was compacted, however the car moves the ravel and the cats are determined good luck
