Max gradient and length of internal ramp???

Post by Bond23 » Thu May 07, 2009 5:30 pm

What is the maximum length and gradient of an internal ramp in a private dwelling? Also what is the minimum width of a ramp?

I have just bought a plot of land to build a house and would like the house to be on 2 levels. I am wheelchair dependant so require ramps or lift, I would prefer ramps.

Thanks

Bond23,
The maximum slope for a ramp in the BR is 1 in 12, other than this I don't think there are any other requirements but I would expect the same standards to be applied to guarding for ramps as is applied to stairs.
