meter installation

by ally66 » Fri Sep 14, 2007 4:54 pm

A friend has recently moved into a residential development consisting of 14 seperate homes. There are 2 garage blocks which are supplied through a single electric meter. Each garage block has 1 ring main with 1 double socket per garage ( eight garages in one block, six in the other ).
The residents want each garage individually metered so that the electric bill can be paid for according to individual usage. I'm assuming I can connect the meters in the ring main in place of the sockets and connect the sockets on the output side of the meters, is this correct?

Presuming you are part-p registered leckie then could find a way as you suggest, being carefull to maintain double insulation to the entire cable including at meters where earths could be a problem!
