Methods for ethernet cable retrofit

Postby ukdiy » Wed Dec 14, 2022 5:58 pm

hey everyone,
what methods would you recommend considering to retrofit an ethernet cable connection into a domestic property?

- the property was a new build in 2012, by one of the large national house builders
- the requirement is to make an ethernet connection available in one 1st floor bedroom
- the internet router is currently located on the ground floor, fortunately it is in in the room directly below the bedroom
- both rooms are located on the corner of the property, they each have 2 external walls and 2 internal walls
- the starting point for the ethernet cable (at the ground floor router) is on one of the external walls
- the end point for the ethernet cable (in the 1st floor room) is on the other external wall
- therefore the most direct horizontal route makes an L shape. along one wall, then round one internal corner onto the other wall

thanks for your help

Simply Build It

Hi ukdiy,
Easiest way is to buy a ready made Ethernet cable of the right length and feed this through hole between rooms, large enough for the plug end.
