Looking for some advice.
Had a new mixer installed in the summer - Mira Realm - worked fine but now the winter is here the water is luke-warm rather than hot.
I realise mains water is colder now than then and tbh our boiler is not the biggest (24w) but would have thought it would be big enough. Hot water in the bath tap (separate hot/cold taps) is only hot when tap is half open so it looks like boiler cant keep up with flow of water.
After messing around, my solution is to turn the cold tap on in bathroom while shower is on which does mean a hot shower. This leads me to think that the issue is our main water is overpowering the hot as it comes through the mixer - sound about right?
Obviously the tap on is a short-term mix so what is the long term fix? Mira said I should fit a flow restrictor to shower head???
Alternatively could I fit something to the cold pipe limited the flow of water to the mixer?? or even limit the mains cold as it enters my property (turn stop-cock down a bit?)
Any advice would be welcome - looking for a DIY fix before I call in a plumber.
