Mixer tap not working All aspects of plumbing questions and answers, help, tips and information

I have just installed a basin with mixer tap.

I tried the tap and some water came out, now it just comes out in drips, both hot & cold.

I know the supply is OK, as I put a branch off the cold for the supply to the cistern, and that fills up as normal.

Is it a duff tap, or is there something else I could try?

I've installed many taps before, this is the first time i've had this problem.

Possibly an air lock especially if you drained down to fit the tap.
