Motorised Valve

by alanwest » Thu Nov 01, 2007 8:16 pm

The motorised valve on my central heating keeps ticking and causing electrical interference on my TV. I have replaced the motor but this has not stopped the problem. When the valve is activated the motor keeps oscilating slightly. I can stop the ticking by manually locking the valve open.

not come across this for years, you can get an electrical filter from the likes of Mapplins or RS. components

Are you sure it's wired correctly? Can't see why the motor should oscillate. It should open and stay open. Is it a 2 port or 3 port valve?

Thanks for tips. Problem solved. The relay switch inside the three port valve was worn, thus not switching positively. Hence the oscilating (relay cuitting in and out). Had to invest in new Power Head. Hope this helps someone else.
