Multiple security lights wiring

Post by the2ems » Sun Oct 31, 2010 9:27 am

I need to fit some security light to my daughters property, and was going to fit one at 150W to cover a side entry, and one or two at 400W to cover the rear garden. Can I run them all off a single 13amp supply wired in series? If so what rate cable should I use?

Thanks

wiring outdoors is a controlled service under building regs part P so not legal DIY .
There is a limit to the wattage allowed on outside lights (and they are wired in parallel not series.)
