Multiple Wires to one Terminal Block in Celing Rose

Post by Richardpartridge » Sun Sep 25, 2016 7:53 pm

Hi - i hope you can help...
I have a ceiling light that has 5 seperate wires that needs connecting to the mains wire in the ceiling.

So i have 5 x Live / 5 x Neutral / 6 x earth (inc 1 extra for the actual light)

The light came with a terminal block (L/N/E) however it is pretty much impossible to insert 5/6 wires into one part of the terminal block.

The mains cable from the ceiling only has 1 x wire - so only 1 x Live / 1 x neutral / 1 x earth to connect to the other side of the terminal block

What is best to do in this situation?
To connect 5 wires to 1!

Thanks

The simplest thing to do if the terminals/connector block is not large enough to fit multiple cables in, is go purchase one that does!

There are number of outlets that will sell 20A connectors that should deal with this issue. I assume these terminals will be enclosed safely?
