Narrow Terrace Loft Conversion Possible?

Postby turkeytickler » Sun Jun 10, 2007 2:47 pm

Hi there

We have a narrow standard 2 up 2 down (+box room) victorian mid terrace property (e.g. not over the passage or hall entrance)

Is is possible to do a loft conversion on this type of property? I cant visualise how it would work without stair access taking up loads of space. Are there any "template" plans knocking around to give me an idea if its possible?

Every loft conversion is different so there are no templates. Its not just about the shape of the actual roof space its about whether or not the existing roof timbers are strong enough to take a room and whether the fire regulations can be adhered to. There are loads of regs to take into account when doing a loft conversion so take a look at our loft conversion project to get a better idea then get some quotes from builders for yours. Quotes are free and you will also find out if its possible or not. 99.9% of the time a conversion is possible but it all boils down to cost in the end.
