New Light on Landing

by geordie1 » Tue Feb 24, 2009 7:55 pm

I have just recently moved to a new property and discovered there is no ceiling rose on the upstairs landing. Anyway i am thinking about fitting some spot lights but i noticed there was a grey wire along with 2 reds, and 2 black but one black has some red tape on it which i take is the switch cable.

When fitting the light could someone give me a bit of advice on were i should be connecting the grey wire to as i dont know if its live or not,

Thanks

The wiring you've got there is for the 2 way switching. to be honest if your struggling with that (an I admit 2 way lighting can seem a bit like a dark science if your not familiar with it) you need to get an electrician to have a look at quote you for putting in the spots.
