new rad will not heat up

by dean sf » Wed Apr 02, 2008 10:02 pm

i live in an upstairs flat and have a radiator downstairs in the porch and ive jus replaced it because the old one was leeking i have bled it out but it will not heat up, i got all the air out and have taken 3 buckets of water out the system trying to get it hot, once hot water had started to come out the bleed valve i closed it of and in a bout 10 min it was cold again, i have no idea what is going on here so if any could help it would be much appreciated, thanks in advance

thats an interesting one. do you have TRVs connected? pop the top off and see if the pin is stuck.

someone else will sort you out no doubt.

Did the old radiator work ?

It could be an airlock, make sure the radiator valves to the new radiator are open, turn off all other radiators and see if it will push through.

Check pump, maybe turn up a setting and vent it to get any air out. The pump may be struggling.
