Have a bungalow with a room in the loft, which was done many years ago before current regulations. Gets very warm, then temperature plummets when cold. Whole house not warm and only has feather board under the tiles of other rooms. Looked into roof foam and boarding some of the walls of room in loft etc. and insulating better narrow loft space. Now considering biting the bullet and having a new roof with cellotex type boards or multi foil. Does anyone have experience of this? And will loft room and house be warmer?
Hi Margaret Amos Yes it will make a tremendous difference but bear in mind that you will have to get Building Regulations approval for the works. Regards S
Hi Margaret Amos If you are replacing more than 25% of an existing roof or are improving the thermal properties you must comply with Building Regulations. Regards S
