No cold water from tank in loft to shower

Post by Jim the plumber » Mon Dec 01, 2008 7:48 pm

I have just installed a shower and the cold water was being fed from the mains and overpowering the hot water which is on a gravity feed. So I have taken the cold feed from the storage tank, which I thought would even out the pressure. But now all I have is hot water! Please give me advice asap. Cheers.

Hi Jim,

Cold feed blocked? Send a wire down or back feed with mains pressure.

some of these showers require a minimum inlet pressure before they will operate correctly. Check the instalation instructions for the minimum hight of the storage tank above the shower head.
You may need a booster pump. I did.

hi jim
another possible would be to put a pressure gauge on the hot read it then put a pressure reducing valve on the cold and balance them out that way
